Overview

Gilbert Szlumper, assistant general manager at Southern Railway, shows pupils from King’s College School in Wimbledon round the new SRV “Schools” class locomotive, King’s Wimbledon. Many locomotives in this class were named after public schools on the Southern Railway network. Szlumper presents a model of the train, probably constructed by master craftsmen Stanley Beeson, to Headmaster HJ Dixon.
