The Foul King
Kim Jee-woon’s hilarious comedy, starring Song Kang-ho (Parasite) as a wimpy bank clerk who turns his hand to competitive wrestling.
Director: Kim Jee-woon
Overview
After enduring one headlock too many from his boss, a salaryman hits the gym, transforming himself into a ruler of the wrestling ring. Not cut out for hero roles, he becomes the ‘foul king’ – a rule-breaking competitor who employs any means to defeat his opponents. Propelled by Song Kang-ho’s unbridled performance, this classic Korean comedy is an entertaining paean to non-conformity and a critique of suffocating societal norms.
