A tennis champ and a charming if eccentric fan joke about ridding one another of unwanted intimates: a perfect (since seemingly unmotivated) crime, in theory... Hitchcock's abiding fascination with structural patterns - both narrative and visual - produces several unforgettable set-pieces.
