Pulp: A Film about Life, Death and Supermarkets

Jarvis and co’s farewell concert is captured in Florian Habicht’s affectionate and intriguing documentary, which also acts as a profile of Pulp’s home city of Sheffield and its residents.

Documentary 2014 90 mins

Director: Florian Habicht

Overview

Twenty-five years after leaving Sheffield to find fame in London, Pulp return for a farewell concert. Filmmaker Florian Habicht captures both the triumphant homecoming show and the views of various Sheffield residents in profiling a band with a deep and enduring connection to their local roots.

With contributions from fellow local legend Richard Hawley and regular interjections from Pulp’s treasured frontman, Jarvis Cocker, Habicht’s film is an affectionate and atypical portrait of one of Britain’s best-loved bands.
