On the Twelfth Day... U rating

Playful, charming, Oscar-nominated take on the Christmas song directed by queen of the dance Wendy Toye and designed by the great Ronald Searle.

Romance 1955 21 mins

Director: Wendy Toye

Overview

This delightful Technicolor rendition of the evergreen Christmas song from dancer-turned-director Wendy Toye was a runner up for the Best Short Subject Oscar in 1956. Toye herself is the long-suffering Miss Tilly, driven to distraction by her truelove's increasingly overwhelming gifts. The charming set design is by the great Ronald Searle, of Molesworth and St Trinian's fame.
