In 1998 a filmmaker escapes the pain of a break-up through casual sex and meets a closeted lawyer with a girlfriend. Despite the latter’s initial refusal to commit, the pair fall in love, but drug addiction threatens to tear the relationship apart. The film is a deeply personal work from Ira Sachs, who based the story on one of his past relationships.
