Overview
Demobbed soldiers David King and Johnny Craig arrive back in the ailing Suffolk Coast hamlet of Pin Mill - where David grew up. Hoping to reinvigorate local industry, they take on the challenge of restoring an old boat, but must win over Pin Mill residents to help them prepare for a nearby yacht race.
Shot entirely on location in Pin Mill for just £8,000, Ha'Penny Breeze was described by newspapers on its release as Britain's cheapest ever full-length feature film. All the same, many critics praising the work of its youthful team: 25 year -old director Frank Worth (a wartime naval cameraman who became a film editor and documentary director), 31 year-old producer Darcy Conyers (a former Royal Navy Lieutenant) and 27 year- old actor Don Sharp (an Australian ex-airman).
