Overview

Owned at the time by British entrepreneur and railway preservationist Alan Pegler featured in this film, the lovingly looked-after locomotive is surrounded by enthusiasts at London King's Cross before departing at the exact same time it has done 40 years prior. The filmmaker has access to all areas of the train whilst capturing the historic non-stop run, offering views of the interior alongside shots of onlookers standing dangerously close to the tracks along the route.

This film is from the collection of Newham Local History Resource Centre, a member of the London's Screen Archives Network.
