Overview

Adapted from the book by Andrew Michael Hurley, Starve Acre stars Matt Smith as Richard, an archaeologist obsessed with uncovering the roots of an ancient oak tree, and Morfydd Clark as Juliette, who turns to more spiritual pursuits to deal with their loss. In this interview Kokotajlo - who directs from his own adapted screenplay - talks about the boom in British folk horror, bringing a key character to life with the help of animatronics and how a mixture of charming countryside cinema and terrifying 1970s public information films influenced his film. Daniel and Nia discuss Starve Acre in its entirety.
