Overview

Dozens of young boys in sailor suits line up for an inspection at the Star & Garter in Richmond. The Star & Garter was then a hotel that since 1906 had been run as a military hospital – in 1919 it was rebuilt as a home for disabled servicemen. The Boys Naval Brigade are inspected by Admiral Fremantle, before they give an impressively choreographed display firing a small artillery gun.
