Overview

From the Derawar Fort and Noor Mahal Palace in Bahawalpur to the Sir Edwin Lutyens-designed buildings of New Delhi, including Rashtrapati Bhavan (home to the President of India) and the India Gate, this film also documents the architecture and gardens of the British Residencies in Lahore and New Delhi, with a detailed section on house boat-living in Kashmir on lake Dal and surrounding waterways.

This film captures both the formal public architecture of the Punjab states, whilst also enabling a view of British diplomatic life. There is detailed observation of decorative features on buildings, The latter section, filmed on the waters of Lake Dal, offer an insight into westerners living on house boats in Kashmir.
