Overview

Besides the day-to-day activity of an Air Raid Wardens’ post, there is also a strong sense of community depicted in ‘Post 23’. In extremely challenging circumstances, the civil defence workers of ‘Post 23’ respond to the home front’s daily challenges, as people from various backgrounds and professions work together to help those worst affected by war.

This government film is a public record, preserved and presented by the BFI National Archive on behalf of The National Archives, home to more than 1,000 years of British history.
