Overview

There’s a good sense of the scale of the annual May Queen parade provided here, as the camera captures a large parade passing down the road on the way to Hayes Common. Parade and common are packed out with garlanded white-clad children waving banners for “May Queen Of Brockley” and other participating districts. This year’s May Queen, who sadly goes unnamed, even delivers a short speech to the crowd, who stare in awe at the dramatic frills of her tutu.
