Overview

This evocative amateur film documents the stone laying ceremony of the Islington Central Methodist Church that would subsequently replace the Albany Mission on Hornsey Road. Shots of the parade passing through nearby streets paint a lively portrait of the local area before arriving at the destination - the new church site between Palmer Place and Liverpool Road. With marching bands, Scouts, Guides, clergy and local officials taking part, it's a truly communal event.
