All the boy has to do is to fetch a pail of water…What could possibly go wrong?

Overview
This is the comic tale of an errant son sent by his father to fetch a pail of water. The hapless, rougish lad is played by a teenage Meic Povey in an early acting role, and he doesn't miss a single chance to make mischief whilst fulfilling his task – or not. A red mini, a bicycle, a bottle and an old boot make grand props, and the moral of the tale seems to be 'If you want something done…'.
Meic Povey is a Welsh actor, screenwriter and director, and is considered to be one of Wales's leading playwrights. His many acting parts include DC 'Taff' Jones in the 1980s TV series 'Minder'. An early mentor was playwright W.S. Jones ('Wil Sam', 1920-2007), who created this story and who acts the part of the father (his two daughters feature also). Guto Roberts, the photographer, was himself a well loved TV and theatre actor and he appears, Hitchcock-like, having a smoke at the end of this film. The setting is the area of Eifionydd around Rhoslan, where Roberts and Jones both lived.
