Derby Day - Manchester City clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford for the bragging rights of the city.

Non-Fiction 1929 1 mins Silent

Overview

Derby day at Old Trafford was one of the fiercest derbies in the footballing calendar. Manchester United (in the darks shirts) were no doubt hoping to rekindle a stuttering league season with a win against their neighbouring rivals, Manchester City. But, it would be City's day. Although only one of their goals has been captured, they ran out 3-1 winners and extended their winning streak to five matches. The cheers from the crowd seem it bit half-hearted - United supporters?

The 1920s hadn't been good to Manchester United and the 1929-30 season was no exception. City hadn't fared much better, though they were riding a four-match winning streak when they joined this game. City pushed on to end up third in the league, with United way back at 17th.
