Overview

The Rothmans Cricket Cup Final shows Exeter St Thomas CC versus Barnstaple Nondescripts. Exeter St Thomas cricketers make 139 all out in this 40 over game and the Barnstaple Nondescripts captained by ex-Somerset County cricketer Brian Roe are all out for 67.

Somerset County Cricket Club released opening batsman Brian Roe at the end of 1966 and although he was asked back he opted for a job in the insurance industry. He played, coached and umpired for clubs in North Devon. Pilton Cricket Club, Barnstaple Cricket Club and Barnstaple Nondescripts all shared a ground at Pottington. League cricket started in 1978 but by 1980 Barnstaple Nondescripts had disbanded and in 1993 Barnstaple and Pilton amalgamated to form one cricket club and since 2005 play at Raleigh Meadow.
