Discomania
Nerdy teenage mummy's boy David dreams of wowing the girls with his disco dance moves - but alas he was born with two left feet.
Overview
Geeky teenage fantasist David desperately wants to impress the ladies at London's hippest music nightspots with the latest disco dances. But when he fails miserably to set the floor alight, he decides that dance lessons are required. Return to the glory days of disco with this poptastic period piece, full of funky tunes, fine threads and hot dance crazes from the glitterball era.
Discomania also provides the opportunity to feast your eyes on fleet-footed finalists from the First World Disco Dancing Championship performing their hottest routines in London. Among the dancefloor titans are world champion Tadaaki Dan (Japan) and runners-up Ricky Villard (USA) and Grant Santino (UK). British roller disco dancers Graham Heath, Paul Waller and Steve Lacey also give it their all at the First Roller Disco Championship at La Volbonne on the River, Maidenhead, before Les Lacey of Slough takes the title.
