Boys' Brigade Review at Racecourse (c.1902)

Nurses and soldiers parade for crowds and the camera, with the boys' brigade marching past.

Non-Fiction 1902 6 mins Silent

Overview

The Boys' Brigade, then barely two decades old, was hugely popular by the Edwardian period. The connection with the hundreds of marching soldiers and nurses at a possibly different location isn't clear, but physical evidence from the films links them. With men, women and boys all marching, together they demonstrate the popularity of military and service life after the Boer War.
