Donkey racing on Ramsgate's Viking Bay
This charming holiday film set on Ramsgate's Viking Bay shows a pair of children cantering on a pair of donkeys along the sandy beach

Overview
Gladys and Norman Holland's 1937 home-movie starts with a high angle view of Ramsgate's Viking Bay. On the beach we see two children riding a pair of donkeys, while being led by their keeper. Then the donkeys set off at a fast trot with the children hanging on. The racers turn back and canter towards the camera. All the while the donkey's keeper runs alongside. The film ends with an unusual slow-motion shot of the racing donkeys with their kiddie riders enjoying themselves.
