Overview

In 1977 a Norwich Union-sponsored mail coach recreated the Norwich to London run marking the centenary of the last run in 1877. Amateur filmmaker Pauline Webb captured on film the horse-drawn coach, when it made a stop at her local pub, Pulham Market’s Crown Inn on Harleston Road. An unusal sight, the coach passengers, all wearing Victorian period costume, stop for a glass of port, meanwhile the children of the village get to climb aboard the carriage for a closer look.
