Overview
In contemporary Rajasthan, Trishna (Frieda Pinto) is seduced by British businessman Jay (Riz Ahmed) who invites her to work in his hotel. In the third of his imaginative Thomas Hardy adaptations, Michael Winterbottom transposes Tess of the d'Urbervilles to modern India for a visually stunning and emotionally gripping version of this tragic tale of power, class, cruelty and broken love.
