Workforce of Haslam's Ltd., Colne (1900)
Lancashire mill-workers have fun in front of the camera.
Overview
This film marks Mitchell & Kenyon's second visit to the ornate factory gates of Haslam's. While the earlier film captures mill-workers with young children traipsing through January snow, the sunny weather this time sees all classes and types of people - the well-dressed and shawl-clad alike - out and about, skipping and dancing, theatrically knocking off hats and performing for the camera.
