Workforce of Scott & Co. Shipyard, Greenock (1901)
Unruly shipworkers defy direction from Mitchell and Kenyon's showmen partners.
Overview
Like theatre, this film begins with Scott's huge gate sliding open to disgorge its workers. But what follows is less well-rehearsed... The vain efforts of three well-dressed showmen to direct the crowd make entertaining viewing. One cheeky showman doffs his hat to the camera as he leaves on a cart. Keep an eye out for the young girl rescued just in time to avoid being mown down by a passing cart.
