Birmingham Terrible Railway Smash
Scenes of carnage across the west coast main line as carriage compartments are turned inside out - a mysterious rail accident with a tragic outcome
Overview
An archive mystery film - enigmatic because although the film apparently dates from 1915, the rail accident records for this period don't include such an incident. There was an accident at Birmingham New Street on 26 November 1921, which left 3 people dead and 24 injured. This incident was attributed not to the frost but to driver error and inadequate communication. The result was recorded as a rear collision, derailment and collision with a structure. Could this film be a record of that incident?
