Good Night
An unusual farewell in this charming early film
Overview
This charming little film was made by Charles Goodwin Norton, who alongside his film business ran a stationery shop in King's Cross, London. Norton here uses his shop as a backdrop for what was presumably a message to end one of his film shows. A child carries a sign saying 'For your kind attention many thanks', while in the background a man sets about putting up the shops shutters, which eventually spell out the words 'Good Night'.
Good Night matches another film, Bill Poster (also available on BFI Player), in which the same shopfront features.
