Hard Candy
Elliot Page became an indie sensation as the teenage vigilante trying to trap a predatory older man, in David Slade's smart psychological thriller.
Director: David Slade
Overview
Before Juno, Elliot Page rose to prominence for her startling role in David Slade's smart psychological thriller. Page plays 14-year-old Hayley Stark, a precocious teen who allows herself to be groomed online with the intention of ensnaring her predator, Jeff (Patrick Wilson). What follows is a riveting psychological game, as Jeff tries to convince Hayley he's innocent of the crimes she levels at him.
Shot in just 18 days on a limited budget, Hard Candy became a breakout hit following its premiere at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival.
